Banking on Youth

Published on January 7th, 2013

Vibrant Abbotsford’s Banking on Youth project is now complete with 61 youth having participated in 14 Financial Literacy sessions. Participants gained knowledge, skills and confidence and became better equipped to make positive financial choices that could prevent them from falling into poverty.

Youth reported finding the sessions very useful and said they would recommend them to their friends. They reported gaining confidence in managing money and increased hope for their financial futures. The sessions inspired youth to set money goals, develop budgets, reduce banking fees, make plans to pay off debt and open RRSPs/RESPs,GICs and TFSAs.
