ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Vibrant Abbotsford is hosting the launch of their Top Abbotsford Employers recognition program on Feb 28 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at 35190 Delair Road, Cascade Community Church, Abbotsford. The event, which will recognize Prospera Credit Union as an exemplary Abbotsford employer, will be open to members of all local businesses, for a catered breakfast, a featured panel of speakers and time for networking. Mayor Bruce Banman will present Prospera with the Top Abbotsford Employer certificate on behalf of Vibrant Abbotsford.

“This will be a terrific event. Employers have an unparalleled impact on the lives of their employees and their community as a whole,” says Andrea Senft, chair of the Vibrant Abbotsford Leadership Table. Senft continues, “We are greatly anticipating the event, it has the potential to serve as the means for a bridge of communication between the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors in Abbotsford. It is time that these sectors worked in tandem to improve the lives of Abbotsford families.”

“A healthy environment means a happy workforce,” says Heather Johnson, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Prospera Credit Union.

Prospera Credit Union knows that treating employees well increases employee retention. It also significantly reduces the costs associated with hiring new employees. Savings are made directly in advertising costs, time spent interviewing and employee training. Benefits are also seen indirectly, with better customer relationships and fewer errors.

Attendees of this event can anticipate a scrumptious meal, enjoyable conversations, engaging business speakers and a presentation on creating, and maintaining productive employees. This event is free and open to all members of Abbotsford businesses.
