Vibrant Abbotsford to co-MC Summit; Event Registration & Scholarship Information

Cities are working together in an unprecedented way to develop place-based approaches to ending poverty. We are at a unique moment in history in which cities, provinces and our federal government are all converging with independent, yet interrelated, poverty reduction strategies.

Join Vibrant Abbotsford as co-MC, as well as others in the Fraser Valley and across Canada, this June 12-13 to attend a  Tamarack’s Vibrant Communities workshop, Cities Innovating to Reduce Poverty, in Vancouver, BC. This event will elevate conversations from previous Tamarack national summits about innovation in poverty reduction, featuring the unique role of city, provincial and federal strategies. It will facilitate learning and dialogue across sectors, harness the distinctive synergies of today's poverty reduction movement, and take our collective understanding of innovation in poverty reduction to the next level.

The summit will feature fabulous speakers, experiential city tours, and interactive workshops that will facilitate learning and dialogue across sectors, harness the distinctive synergies of today's poverty reduction movement, and take our collective understanding of innovation in poverty reduction to the next level. As a member of Cities Reducing Poverty, we are excited to learn from others and help take this national movement further in 2018.

Topics to be explored include:

  • Recognizing and aligning innovative government, private sector, and community solutions to reducing poverty
  • Meaningfully engaging people with lived/living experience in poverty reduction work
  • Embedding a Collective Impact approach to the work

Discounts are available for colleagues who enroll together. To learn more or register your team for this workshop, please visit the Cities Innovating to Reduce Poverty event page.

Tamarack is also offering a number of full and half Scholarships with priority being given to applicants with lived/living experience of poverty. Applicants from small non-profits engaged in poverty reduction work and students are also invited to apply.
